Expanded Display of Classics Highlights 53rd Annual Miami International Auto Show
This year’s 53 rd edition of the Miami International Auto Show will offer an impressive line-up of more than 50 classic autos spanning nine decades.
Right at home in the confines of the Miami Beach Convention Center is Memory Lane’s featured car, a 1973 Citroen DS Henri Chapron Series II. The midnight-blue Citroen was bodied by renowned Paris coachbuilder Henri Chapron and is now owned by Miami collector Volker Ribniger. The complex hydro-pneumatic suspension levitates the car high off the ground turning heads as it cruises along South Beach.
Other impressive autos on display will include a 1929 Ford Model A Woodie, 1937 Alvis Speed 25 Vandeen Plas 2-door saloon, 1964 Ford Thunderbird, 1969 Chevrolet Z28 Camaro, 1979 Fiat Spyder and 1980 Maserati Merak SS.
“The Memory Lane exhibit treats our attendees to a nostalgic journey of the extraordinary history of the automotive industry,” said Debra Koebel, auto show manager.
The exhibit is presented by the Antique Automobile Club of America’s South Florida Region. Each year, the Club selects members to put their pride and joy on display in the Memory Lane exhibit.
Founded in 1955, the Antique Automobile Club of America’s South Florida Region comprises 400 local members and is dedicated to the restoration, preservation and enjoyment of antique vehicles. For more information, visit www.aaca.org/southflorida.
